A year ago I got to help celebrate Ellis’ arrival earthside by photographing him as a newborn. I remember cradling him in my lap and wrapping him up all tight in a swaddle. Everything about him was so soft– his downy hair, tiny fingers and toes, his dumpling cheeks. I used to work with his mama when I was a student at EKU, so I got to follow her pregnancy and Ellis’ life online. I loved watching him grow, and I was beyond excited when Ashley asked if I could take his one year pictures. Few things are better than documenting a family as it grows and changes, and I feel so very blessed to have had this opportunity with Ellis and his mama and dad.

This sweet little boy is full of life– he loves to move, laugh, and explore. He’s brave, he likes a good snack, and cuddling his mama is obviously one of the highlights of his day. I think anyone could get lost in his big, blue eyes and thinking about what an exciting adventure must be ahead for him. I’d say I can’t wait to photograph his two year session, but I’ll just be hoping time slows just a smidge so we can enjoy these baby years a bit longer.
