I’m pretty sure if you’re working on planning your wedding, you don’t need another lengthy article about the proper rehearsal dinner etiquette and one size fits all to-do lists. The magazine shelves have enough of those, and you aren’t a cookie cutter bride, so you don’t need cookie cutter advice.
I try to share a lot of helpful information with the couples I work with to make sure their wedding day and the time leading up to it is stress- free and fun. As a photographer, I have a different perspective of how a wedding day runs and what preparations need to be made in order for everything to flow. I remind couples of the small things like not chewing gum and remembering to look up and ahead while walking down the aisle, to the more important things like asking guests to go unplugged during the ceremony.
But, there’s one thing that always makes a powerful impact on how the wedding day feels and how those vibes are documented in photos. It’s actually really simple, and might seem a like a total no-brainer.
You two, the bride and groom, just need time to breathe. To remember that the day is about celebrating your love. It’s not about if Great Aunt Sally doesn’t like the idea of a First Look because it’s not traditional. It’s not about if someone doesn’t like the entree you picked out for dinner. It’s not about a guest feeling just a smidgen annoyed that they have to put their iPhone away just long enough to see you GET MARRIED. It’s about reflecting on everything you’ve gone through to get to that moment, and thinking ahead to the beautiful adventures that still await. The day is about you. It’s about taking in the little moments and just straight up loving life.
If you can manage to accomplish at least that one thing, your day is going to be amazing, and your photos are going to be amazing, too.
I know if you’re here, though, you’re probably a lover of organization and preparation just like me, and you want a few more ideas to make sure your big day flows nicely and that you get the chance to enjoy it the day of, and then remember it in your pictures. So, I put together a really cute recommendation guide just for you! All of my couples receive this when they book us for their wedding day, and I really want to share it with you, too! Just drop that email below and you’ll get a message right away with your free download. Yay!!
