A lot of couples ask me for suggestions for where to do their engagement pictures, and I always tell them the best way to go is with a place that is near and dear to their heart. I want the lovely folks I work with to feel something while they have their photo taken! So when Francie mentioned she and Cody got engaged on top of a mountain, I knew that’s where we had to go. Francie was a little concerned at first– it was about a 30 minute drive up the mountain in an ATV– could she really ask me to make a trek like that just for pictures? But if you know me, you know I’m always down for an adventure, and I love few things more than seeing a new place and getting to take pictures there.
As we rounded each curve, steering around tree roots and chunks of rock, the sun peeked more and more through the trees. Finally we were at the top, and a big cliff stuck out from the mountain giving us the most spectacular view. I saw the smiles light on Francie and Cody’s faces: this was the place they promised their love together and decided they were going to go through life’s journey as husband and wife.
It was a little more work to get to a mountain top for a session, but the best things in life, like marriage and pretty pictures, are worth a little extra work.
